To make apartment cleaning easier, set aside a few vital tools and products so you can make your new home spotless and settle in quickly. Some of the must-have products and tools for the apartment cleaning are as follows:
Broom, Dustpan, and Mop
These are the basic tools of floor cleaning. We use a small interlocking broom and dustpan. (Sets like these are sold at any big box or hardware store). Bissell also has a new folding microfiber mop on the market that looks like it might be a good solution for a small apartment.
Surface Cleaners
To make your new residence sparkle, you will need an all-purpose degreaser for your kitchen, a wood cleaner for furniture and trim, and an all-purpose cleaner with bleach for your bathroom. For windows and other glass surfaces, you can use a glass cleaner or a mixture of vinegar and water.
Vacuum Cleaner
Depending on the amount of carpet in your home, you may not need a big vacuum. You just can’t go without a vacuum cleaner, if you want to win the fight against dust. But it doesn’t have to be the biggest or the heaviest one, especially if you live in a small place.
Soft Cloths & Sponges
If you have reusable cloths like rags and sponges for apartment cleaning, you won’t have to worry about running out of paper towels. Microfiber towels are excellent for wiping down surfaces and eliminating dust without leaving the residue. For stains, use a sponge with a scouring pad on one side.
Dish Soap
If you really want to make your sink area feel clean and organized, try using squeeze bottles to store your dish soap. As you refill the squeeze bottle, you can dilute the dish soap with water, making it last longer.
Microfiber Cloths, Rags, or Paper Towels
We hang a ragbag near the pantry and keep it full of old clothes for cleaning. Others recommend microfiber cloths, while wall-mounted paper towels can be a convenient space saver.
Air Fresheners
Some of your cleaning supplies, especially those that contain bleach, might leave behind a strong smell. To replace it with a pleasant scent, use an air freshening device or spray. Lighting scented candles also is an excellent way to make your apartment’s air pleasant.
